Rugged Carrying Cases for Xplore iX104 Tablet PCs

So you have a "ruggedized" iX104 Tablet PC from Xplore Technologies. Wrapped in a magnesium chassis, with a 866-MHz Intel Pentium III driving the Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, the iX104 has a shock-mounted hard disk in either 40 or 60-GB sizes, 256 to 512-MB of memory and 10/100 network LAN. One Type II card slot is internal.

An optional 80211b Wireless LAN radio is available from Xplore.

The iX104 has gold-coated interconnects and sealed, spring-loaded pins. Some ports are sealed and accomodate snap-on modules. Others, such as the FireWire and RJ45 LAN connections, have rubber covers. Even the control buttons are rubber covered. At first glance, the iX104 slate makes you realize it is surrounded by bumpers. Xplore tests the toughness of the iX104 tablets by dropping them onto concrete from a height of four feet!

The 10.4-inch touch screen is another matter. Wouldn't it be nice to carry your iX104 in a comfortable case that has a viny screen cover for the display and another padded flap to further protect the screen. And, if you get the optional keyboard, you need a means of carrying it.

Comes now the Pouch, Inc. with four choices of protective, carrying cases designed especially to carry the Xplore Technologies iX104 Tablet PC in cushiony, water-resistant cases made of Neoprene, the rugged material developed by DuPont for Navy Seal demolition teams.
