The ASUS W7S is "handy" in every sense of the word. At only 12.3 by 8.8 by 1.4 inches, few notebooks of any size have as much power packed inside. The processor is an Intel® Core 2 Duo with a choice of clock speeds ranging from 1.8 to 2.2-GHz. The W7S comes with 512-MB DRAM on board, but the single SODIMM socket can accomodate up to 2056-MB of memory. Hard drive choice range as high as 160-GB and the display has a 13.3-inch WXGA screen.
The W7S comes with a super-multi, dual layer optical drive with Light Scribe.™
Wireless connectivity via an integrated WiFi link is available as an option, and this is necessary in order to use the built-in webcam in the notebook for wireless video conferencing. Otherwide, one will have to rely on a wireline Ethernet connection.
