Dog gone? Maybe Spot is corraling some quail or a lady friend. With the companion DC 20 dog-collar transmitter that's sold separately, you'll get a signal every 5 seconds on his/her position. The Astro 220 GPS handheld can be used to keep track of up to 10 dogs' locations and the route each took to get them to where they are. Within 10-feet. It will even tell you if a dog is running, sitting ..or hopefully, on point!
The Astro 220 GPS offers full mapping capabilities with preloaded data cards and from microSD cards in the memory expansion slot. It gives automatic routing and turn-by-turn directions while on foot or in a vehicle. It has SiRFstarIII™ positioning with superlative signal acquisition in dense foliage and urban canyons and it also features an altimeter and electronic compass.
Sure, it has Garmin's waterproof construction, but it really needs The Pouch to keep it safer from dings, drops, dirt and drips.

We've made over 2-million carrying cases using this remarkable material, along with additional padding - field tested under harsh conditions. It's virtually impenetrable. It's completely impervious to water and petroleum products - yet washable. Just throw it into your automatic washer!
We don't make "generic-size" cases. The one we've designed especially for the Garmin Astro 220 is patterned after our famous carrying cases used by hundreds of thousands of Amateur (Ham) Radio operators worldwide.
First, each cushiony case is individually sewn one-at-a-time by experienced seamstresses so that it grasps the Astro 220 GPS Receiver like it is being held in an expensive glove.
Because Neoprene* has a slight amount of stretch, the radio will be better held in the case, even though we have attached a bungee-type restraining cord that goes on either side of the GPS antenna (as shown in this image of a Ham Radio) and is secured on the front of the Pouch by a large Velcro tab.
There's a sturdy, spear-in buckle that closes a rugged web belt-loop and locks the Pouch case securely onto a belt or backpack.
