The primary difference in the Inspiron 1720 and 1721 models have to do with processors. There are Intel® Core™ 2 Duo CPUs in the 1720 model and AMD Turion™ 64 X2 dual-core processors in the Inspiron 1721 notebooks. Dell offers single hard drives with up to 250GB of capacity and dual hard drives capable of storing up to 500GB. 2-GB of Memory is augmented with a 8-in-1 card reader and an ExpressCard 5 slot. A variety of optical drives are available for either model that include a DVD Burner and Blueray Disc.™
Both Inspiron 1720 and 1721 notebooks have the Dell 17-inch anti-glare widescreen display. Dell offers their model 1505 mini- networking card, their model 1390 802.11g mini-card and the Intel® 3945 802.11a/g mini-card for wireless LAN connectivity.
