Dell, Inc. made some changes in the Latitude D430 over its predecessor model, the Latitude D420, that are well worth noting. Memory has been boosted to 2-GB. It has the latest Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor. There is a new optional solid-state hard drive with up to 32-GB of capacity and a promise of longer life as well as a choice of conventional hard drives that can have either 40, 80 or 80-GB capacity. The Wireless LAN choices include an 802.11 a/g/n WiFi. It comes with Bluetooth® connectivity which can be upgraded to Bluetooth® 2.1. The Latitude D430 also offers a choice of modular optical options, which include a DVD burner. The display on the Dell Latitude D430 has a 12.1" WXGA wide-aspect screen.
Mini-cards are available for either Dell Wireless HSDPA 3.6 which connects to AT&T wireless service in the USA and Vodafone in Europe or one that operates on EVDO wide area wireless service from Verizon or Sprint in the USA and Telus wireless service in Canada.
