According to Toshiba, the Portege' 2000 is "incredibly thin" and "incredibly light," and at 6/10ths of an inch and 2.6 pounds, Toshiba may, for a time at least, call the Portege' 2000 "The World's Thinnest Notebook."   Yet, that skinny notebook has a lot packed into it: The 2000 Portege' has an Intel® Pentium® III-M processor capable of 750MHz, 256-MB SDRAM memory and a 12.1" polysilicon TFT active-matrix display.

The big reason Toshiba could "slim-down" the Portege' 2000 series is a tiny 1.8" hard drive that still has 20GB of space.

Toshiba included a lot of "connectivity" in Portege' 2000: A fast IfraRed port, fast 10/100 Ethernet LAN and integrated Wi-FI 802.11b wireless.
