This comparison of two notebooks in the Sony VAIO SR series is posted by The Pouch, Inc., an independent maker of carrying cases.
Sony VAIO SR27 and SR33 have a few things in common: External CD-ROM drive, integrated modem, 100 MHz Bus Speed and Sony Memory Stick® media slot, as well as the same dimensions. But of the two, the SR33 is your economy version VAIO. Whereas the SR27 has an Intel® Pentium® III capable of 750-MHz, the SR33 has a mobile Celeron® running at 600-MHz. Both have 10.4" screens, but the SR27 (AKA, PCG-SR27 and SR27K) has the XGA TFT display with XBrite®, while the SR33 (Also listed in Sony literature as PCG-SR33) has a SVGA TFT screen. The VAIO SR27 notebook has a 30-GB hard drive, the SR33 has only 10-GB of hard drive storage.
The VAIO SR33 can run rings around last year's notebooks and with SDRAM expandable to 256-MB and "only" a 10-gig HD, plus a low voltage, Intel® Mobile Celeron® capable of 600-MHz, the VAIO can outperform most desktop PCs in use today. And it has another advantage: Price. Check it out on the link we've provided to Sony below.
We provided this comparison so that you'll know that The Pouch, Inc. makes a unique, form-fit, water-resistant carrying case with inside dimensions that match Sony VAIO SR27 and SR33 outside dimensions perfectly - at the factory-direct price of $39.95 in black Neoprene - or in a variety of colors for $2.00 more.
