This quick comparison of Sony VAIO SR notebooks is posted by The Pouch, Inc., an independent carrying case maker.  VAIO PCG-SR5K has a Pentium® III inside running at 500MHz, a 9-gig hard drive, and 64MB of RAM.  PCG-SR7K also has a Pentium® III processor, but with Speedstep® technology, affording as much as 600MHz, plus a 12GB hard drive and 128MB of RAM.  Both have 10.4-inch screens - the SR5K a SVGA TFT display and the SR7K a XGA TFT screen.  You choose which drives you want.  CD-ROM, CD-WR, DVD-ROM, even the floppy drive, are outboard and optional.  We've included a link to Sony below so you can peruse all the specifications - because we hope that if you choose either VAIO PCG-SR5K or SR7K, you'll consider the form-fit case we make for them and sell factory-direct for $39.95.
