Here's the idea according to Palm: There are times when you wish you could utilize a full-size keyboard and/or a larger screen. This Mobile Companion, the size of a mini or sub-notebook, brings you both - a 10-inch screen and a full-size keyboard. Foleo is about the size of an 8 by 10-inch legal pad.
So, you flip open the very thin Foleo and it is instantly on. With one button push you are connected wirelessly to your smartphone - and Palm, Inc. hopes this is one of their Bluetooth equipped smartphones, a Treo 755p with wireless connectivity for example.
The smartphone connects the Foleo Mobile Companion to a wireless cellular broadband service. Or, Foleo can access the many hotspots available...in coffee shops, hotels, airports, businesses and homes.
Then, you can dig into one of the thousands of Palm applications available, or knock out a lot of e-mail more conveniently then using the tiny keyboard on the smartphone. You can also, for example, bring up a spread sheet or show-off a company product to others in a business situation, or scan through your personal photos on the brilliant 10-inch screen on the Foleo.
The unique ergonomic design of the Pouch is perfect for Palm's Foleo. It will fit Foleo's exact dimensions like an expensive glove, and because you carry the Pouch in line with your body, it is less likely to strike objects or other persons in crowded situations.
Here's a picture of a Pouch designed especially for for the Foleo (produced in our Tucson Arizona factory) lying on it's face, so you can see the pleated back pocket that lies flat when not in use and expands to carry small accessories such as your smartphone or a number of hard copy files. Both the front and the back pocket are closed securely with Velcro.

The Pouch case for the Palm Foleo is somewhat smaller than the a Pouch case for a Regular Laptop, but it has all of the same configurations and features, including a comfortable shoulder strap with shoulder pad and a big "back pocket."
